“Failing is part of the process. In real life there’s no true objective measure of success, just generic, self-defined milestones. I don’t know where we got this black and white thinking from that unless you’re perfect the first time, you’re not the real deal. You literally *have* to fail in order to get anywhere meaningful. If I spend 3 months training for a 5k, was I failing for those 3 months? No, I was just training. It would be ridiculous to call a crawling baby a failure while it’s still learning to walk. You’re still making progress and learning the entire time, so just accept it as part of the process. Anyone who says anything otherwise is small-minded.”
